My Story

To be honest, I wasn’t always this obsessed with baking. And yes, I would call it a sweet obsession. I look at multiple recipes per day, testing out my creations on friends, family and neighbors.

I have such a strong passion for baking. As I’ve leaned into it, I’ve noticed it plays many roles in my life. Baking is my creative outlet, it helps me to relieve my stresses. It cultivates a sense of purpose while allowing me to share it with others.

What I love about baking is the joy, connections and confidence it has created in my life. No matter where I’ve lived, cookies are something that people know and love. I mean, is there a person that doesn’t love cookies??

For me, desserts go beyond their ingredients and taste; they create conversations and commonality

I think nutrition plays a huge role in one’s health but I also think a healthy lifestyle encompasses more than just that.

As a nurse, I have noticed that those simple ingredients of butter and sugar that make up a sweet treat, can create such a personal connection & positive impact on one’s day. If that cookie reminds a patient of their childhood or sparks a little joy to a coworker’s day, then I know I’ve made a difference.

To me, that’s the power & beauty of food.

Where did The Riveter come from?

Wearing blue scrubs and a red bandana to work, my coworkers and patients would comment on how I looked like Rosie the Riveter. This cultural icon stood out to me for the various roles she took on and what she represented (Bold, Real, Determined), leading me to the name of my business, THE RIVETER.
